HOLOLULU – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in the Hawaii Challenge on Saturday, falling to No. 8 Lewis in three sets and Hawaii Pacific in four.
In the first match of the day,
Taylor Hamilton led the Mountain Lions with nine kills off of 21 attempts to finish with a .381 hitting percentage. The senior also had one service ace and a block assist against the Flyers.
Hamilton again led the offense against Hawaii Pacific with 19 kills and a .368 hitting percentage as
Alyssa Brinton tacked on 12 kills for UCCS.
Defensively,
Natasha Habert totaled 22 digs for the Mountain Lions as
Josie Russell notched two solo blocks and one block assist.
UCCS will look for their first win of the year in their final match of the Hawaii Challenge on Sunday when they take on Chaminade at 11 p.m. MDT (7 p.m. local time).
