HONOLULU – The University of Colorado Colodado Springs volleyball team closed out the Hawaii Challenge with a 3-1 loss to the hosts, Chaminade, on Sunday.
Senior middle blocker
Taylor Hamilton again led the way for the Mountain Lions with 13 kills as freshman
Josie Russell added seven kills in the match.
As a team, UCCS struggled to find their rhythm offensively, evidenced by their .074 hitting percentage against the Silverswords.
Russell was also a bright spot defensively as she was credited with four block assists as well as one solo block.
The Mountain Lions, who slipped to 0-4, return home this coming Friday when they co-host the Steel & Silver Classic with CSU-Pueblo. UCCS opens the tournament that day with a 9 a.m. match against Central Oklahoma.
