COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team saw their four-game winning streak snapped on Sunday by falling to visiting Colorado Mesa, 1-0.
The game against the Mavericks was scoreless until the final minute of regulation when Colorado Mesa's Halie Bergeron broke the stalemate after beating a defender and sending her shot from in front of goal to the back of the net.
Despite giving up the goal, the Mountain Lions held the advantage in shots (22 to 11) and shots on goal (6 to 4). UCC also took nine corner kicks to the Mavericks' two.
For UCCS,
Tarah Patterson led the team with four shots, which included three shots on goal.
In goal,
Taylor Proctor took the loss after being credited with three saves.
The result puts the Mountain Lions at 4-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the RMAC as they hit the road next Friday when they visit Fort Lewis at 3 p.m.
