Women's Soccer Win Fourth Straight

Tarah Patterson and Tori Maydew scored for UCCS in the 2-0 win over Westminster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team picked up their fourth straight win of the season as they shut out Westminster at home, 2-0, Friday evening.

The Mountain Lions broke through in the 8th minute of play with Tarah Patterson juked her defender before slotting home her shot from the left side to just inside the right post. The goal is Patterson's third of the season.

The score remained 1-0 until Tori Maydew scored her first goal of the season in the 54th minute after receiving a pass from the left side by Aleesa Muir. Maydew managed to beat the goalkeeper, sending  the ball to the back of the net.

UCCS was outshot in the game by the Griffins 12 to 9, but the Mountain Lions held the advantage in shots on goal and corner kicks.

In goal, Taylor Proctor was credited with the win after making three saves in just under 73 minutes.
