COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior
Jake McAllister scored both goals in a 2-1 victory for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs against Adams State on Sunday, earning their first win of the season.
McAllister put the Mountain Lions up 1-0 in the 13
th minute when he sent his shot to the back of the net off of a corner kick from
Blake Barnes. The senior then made it 2-0 less than three minutes into the second half when he made a move past an Adams State defender, sending his shot home from the right side. McAllister's two goal were his third and fourth of the season.
McAllister led the team with a game-high six shots, placing three on frame.
The visiting Grizzlies got one back when Drayden Ricks scored in the 54
th minute on a long shot from the right side, scoring his second of the season.
In goal,
Scott Jensen earned the win after being credited with six saves for the Mountain Lions.
The win puts UCCS at 1-4-1 overall and 1-0-01 in RMAC action as the team continues their home stand this Friday when they host Regis at 7:30 p.m. inside Mountain Lion Stadium.
