Men's Soccer Tie Fort Lewis in RMAC Opener

Luke White scored the Mountain Lions' lone goal in the 1-1 draw

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Playing in their RMAC opener, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at home against Fort Lewis.

After a scoreless first half, the Mountain Lions got on the board first when Luke White netted his first goal of the season after weaving his way past the Skyhawks goalkeeper, tapping his shot home in the 65th minute.

Then in the 71st minute, Fort Lewis scored the equalizer when Landon Gibson scored his first of the season after dribbling to the left side, sending his shot from 10 yards out to the back of the net.

Both teams played each other evenly as UCCS held the edge in shots (15 to 14) and corner kicks (11 to 10).

Scott Jensen earned the draw in goal for the Mountain Lions after making six saves.

UCCS is now 0-4-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference action as they continue their homestand on Sunday when they host Adams State inside Mountain Lions Stadium at 2:30 p.m.
