COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team picked up their second straight home win as they edged West Texas A&M, 2-1, on Monday night.
The visiting Lady Buffs got on the board first when Marlene van Mourik scored in the 36
th minute. However, UCCS equalized less than a minute later when Baliee Jameson found the back of the net for the second time in as many games.
In the 65
th minute,
Tarah Patterson also scored her second goal of the campaign, both of which have been game-winners for the Mountain Lions.
Patterson kept the West Texas A&M defense busy as she led UCCS with four shots, two of which were on goal. A trio of Mountain Lions had two shots, including
Aleesa Muir's two that were both on frame.
Taylor Proctor earned the win in goal for UCCS after coming in after halftime.
As a team, the Mountain Lions outshot West Texas A&M 16 to 6 while also holding the advantage in corner kicks, 8 to 1.
The result evens UCCS' record to 2-2-0 as they are off until Sunday when they open their RMAC schedule at home when the Mountain Lions host Black Hills State at 12pm.
