Adams State Rallies Past Women's Lacrosse

Vanessa Nelson and Ellie O'Brien each scored twice to lead UCCS in the 8-6 setback

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Playing their final road game of the season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team fell to Adams State, 8-6, on Saturday.

The visiting Mountain Lions led 3-1 through the first 14 minutes of the game with goals coming from Vanessa Nelson, Madison Ellis, and Ellie O'Brien. UCCS tacked on two more goals early in the second half to make it a 5-2 advantage with goals from O'Brien and Kiana Kelii.

However, it was Adams State who rallied, scoring six of the game's last seven goals to come from behind to take the win.

Both Nelson and O'Brien each scored twice to lead the Mountain Lions as Cera Cyester notched a game-high three goals for Adams State.

Kelii and Ellis each added one goal for UCCS as Brianna Martinez had two assists on the day.

In goal, Elle Scott-Williams kept the Mountain Lions in the game by making five saves.
