UCCS wrapped up their four-game road swing with a 15-10 setback against the Bison

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team wrapped up their four-game road trip with a 15-10 conference setback to Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday.

UCCS was forced to play from behind after allowing the game's first three goals and trailed by as much as five goals in the first half, but managed to rally back and trailed by just two at halftime. In the first 30 minutes, the Mountain Lions were led by Breanna Martinez, who tallied three of the team's five goals.

The Bison again extended their lead early in the second half as UCCS could only draw within three when Vanessa Nelson scored to make it an 11-8 game with 16:11 remaining.
Oklahoma Baptist would go on to score four of the final six goals to solidify their advantage and take the win.

Martinez finished the game with a team-high five points (4 goals, 1 assist) as Kiana Kelii netted a hat-trick. Madison Ellis added two goals as Vanessa Nelson scored once.

Defensively, Ellie O'Brien caused five turnovers while picking up eight ground balls for UCCS while Martinez and Gianni Cannon each caused four turnovers.
