UCCS dropped their first-ever RMAC game at home on Saturday against Westminster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Playing in their first conference game in program history on Saturday, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team fell at home to Westminster, 21-4.

The visiting Griffins shot out to a five goal lead in the first five minutes before the Mountain Lions got one back Vanessa Nelson scored her 13th goal of the season at the 24:07 mark. However, Westminster would tack on another eight straight goals to solidify their advantage for the rest of the game.

Both Nelson and Grace Quinn score twice for UCCS in the setback as Nelson notched four draw controls with Quinn adding three to her tally.

In goal, Elle Scott-Williams took her first loss of the season after making eight saves.

The result puts the Mountain Lions at 2-1 overall and 0-1 in the RMAC as they step out of non-conference play this coming Wednesday when they visit Johnson & Wales at 3 p.m.
