St. George, Utah – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team dropped two games on Friday at the Dixie State Easton Classic. The Mountain Lions fell the Montana State – Billings 12-3 before falling to the hosts, 8-1.
In the setback to the Yellowjackts, UCCS avoided the shutout when Kaylie Barnard blasted a three-run home run over the right center fence in the bottom of the sixth inning.
UCCS then faced Dixie State in their second game in a similar result where
Rayle Glover hit a one-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Mountain Lions slipped to 1-4 on the early season as they close out the tournament Saturday morning when they face Western New Mexico State at 10 a.m.
