GOLDEN, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team fell on the road to Colorado School of Mines on Sunday, 84-62.
The Mountain Lions were led by Madi Gaibler who scored a team-high 14 points as Kristen Vigil added 11 points after going a perfect 5 of 5 from the field, including 1 of 1 from long range.
With the score tied, 6-6, late in the first quarter, Mines used a 10-0 run to securely put themselves in front 16-6 as they would never give up the lead the rest of the way.
The Orediggers' Nicole Archembeau led all scorers with her 23 points as she earned the double-double with 15 rebounds.
The setback puts UCCS at 2-9 overall and 2-4 in the RMAC as they are off until Jan. 30 when the team travels to Western State for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
