LAKEWOOD, Colo. – It took a team effort as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team edged Colorado Christian, 62-60, on Saturday in RMAC action.
A total of nine players scored for the Mountain Lions at freshman Maddie Golla led with a team-high 14 points. The newcomer shot 5 of 12 while making 3 of 4 at the line.
Fellow freshman Abby Feickert added nine points as Madi Gaibler and Chelsea Pearson each scored seven points.
UCCS led by as much as 23 points in the third quarter before the home standing Cougars chipped away at the lead in the fourth.
The win, which puts the Mountain Lions at 2-8 overall and 2-3 in the RMAC, was the first to come on the road.
UCCS will look to make it two in a row when they visit Colorado School of Mines tomorrow afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
