SPEARFISH, S.D. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season to undefeated Black Hills State on Friday, 62-37.
Shannah Leaf paced the Mountain Lions with eight points as Maddie Golla added seven points.
UCCS trailed by just five points mid-way through the third quarter when Golla drained a three-pointer to make it 33-26, however the Yellowjackets (7-0, 1-0 RMAC) went on an 8-0 run to secure a 13-point lead over the following four minutes of the quarter.
The Mountain Lions (0-6, 0-1 RMAC) will look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they visit South Dakota Mines at 3:30 p.m. in Rapid City.
