COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team fell at home to CSU-Pueblo, 100-88, in a non-conference game Tuesday evening.
The visiting Thunderwolves used a 10-0 and 13-0 run in the first half to pull away from UCCS as CSU-Pueblo hit 12 three-pointers in the half. The Steel & Silver rival led by as much as 18 points.
The Mountain Lions were led by
Brandon Malone, who notch 23 points after going 8 of 16 from the field and 6 of 10 from beyond the arc.
Justin Smith added 18 points while grabbing seven rebounds in the setback as UCCS slipped to 2-3 on the season.
As a team, the Mountain Lions shot 42.6 percent from the field while hitting 10 of 26 from three-point range.
UCCS wraps up their non-conference schedule on Monday, Nov. 27 when they host Northern New Mexico, an NAIA program, at 7:30 p.m.
