COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship with a 1-0 win over West Texas A&M on Sunday.

The No. 2-seeded Mountain Lions only needed one goal, which came in the 44th minute when Tarah Patterson blasted home a shot from 25 yards out in front of goal. The goal, which came off a pass by Ella Fischer, was Patterson's seventh of the season.

No. 3-seed West Texas A&M (11-7-5), who fell to the No. 23-ranked Mountain Lions by one goal earlier in the season, was led by Khadidra Debesette's four shots and two shots on goal.

The clean sheet by Taylor Proctor was the team's 10th of the of the year as they have yet to allow a goal in their four postseason games. In the game, Proctor was credited with three saves.

With the win, the Mountain Lions will face No. 4-seed Colorado Mines in the third round of the tournament, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the West region later this week.
