DENVER – Senior forward
Jake McAllister proved to be the hero Thursday afternoon, scoring a hat-trick as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Men's Soccer team defeated Regis on the road, 4-1.
Down 1-0 in the first half, McAllister scored twice in the span of a little more than one minute, netting his eighth and nine goals in the 32
nd and 33
rd minutes. He then picked up his third goal of the game in the 59
th minute.
Fellow senior
Blake Barnes added the team's fourth goal, converting his fifth penalty kick of the season in the 85
th minute.
UCCS held the advantage in shots on goal (11 to 6) despite being outshot 18 to 15.
In goal,
David Meyer earned the win after making five saves.
The Mountain Lions improved to 7-7-3 overall and 7-3-3 in the RMAC as they wrap up the regular season at Colorado Mines on Saturday. Game-time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
