COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team wrapped up their home schedule on Sunday with a 2-0 win against MSU Denver.
The Mountain Lions, who were celebrating their senior day, picked up the victory with a pair of second half goals from
Aleesa Muir and
Kelsey Lanham.
Muir netted her second goal of the season in the 49
th minute after dribbling down the left side, beating defenders before send her shot to the back of the net on the right side.
Lanahm, a freshman, scored her fourth of the year in the 71
st off a rebounded shot, beating the Roadrunners' goalkeeper, Breanna Flores.
Individually, both
Chanisse Hendrix and
Tarah Patterson led the Mountain Lions with the shots each.
Grace Ramsden and
Taylor Proctor each played one half in goal for UCCS, helping to preserve the shutout. Ramsden had two key saves in the first half while Proctor earned the decision.
The result puts UCCS at 10-4-0 overall and 8-2-0 in the RMAC as they travel to take on New Mexico Highlands on Oct. 26 in Taos, N.M. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
