LAKEWOOD, Colo. – After playing more than 80 minutes of scoreless soccer, the visiting University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team scored twice in the final minutes of regulation to pick up the win against Colorado Christian.
In the 82
nd minute,
Austin Seifert scored his first goal of the season by sending his shot to the upper right corner.
Just a minute later,
Conor Langenbahn netted his second goal of the season with a rebounded shot to the lower right corner as the junior now leads UCCS with six points (2 goals, 2 assists) on the season.
The two goals are all it took to edge the Cougars as
David Meyer made three saves to earn his third shutout of the season.
As a team, the Mountain Lions recorded 18 shots, placing nine on frame while pressuring the Colorado Christian defense with nine corner kicks.
Conversely, the Cougars took 10 shots with three shots on goal while UCCS held them to one corner kick opportunity.
The Mountain Lions, who improved to 3-4-1 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC, return home to take on MSU Denver on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
