COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team fell at home to No. 16 Angelo State, 3-1, Friday evening in the team's home and season opener.
The visiting Belles jumped out quickly, scoring all three of their goals in the first 15 minutes of the game to earn the road win.
Senior forward
Michaela Mansfield got one back for the Mountain Lions, scoring her first goal of the season in the 29
th minute off of a feed from
Dana Shellhorn to make it a two-goal game.
Despite back-and-forth play in the second half, neither team managed to find the back of the net.
Grace Ramsden was kept busy most of the evening as she tallied six saves in the loss.
As a team, UCCS notched six shots, placing three on frame.
The Mountain Lions continue their home stand Sunday afternoon when they host Wayne State in a non-conference meeting at 4 p.m. at Mountain Lion Stadium.
