COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team makes their sixth consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament appearance Wednesday night when they host Fort Lewis at 7 p.m.
Ā
The Mountain Lions enter the tournament as the No. 3-seeds as Fort Lewis comes in as the No. 6-seeds. The two teams squared-off last Friday at Mountain Lion Stadium as UCCS edged the Skyhawks, 1-0, with senior forward Austin Seifert scoring in overtime to earn the win.

SCOUTING UCCS (11-6-1, 10-4 RMAC)
The Mountain Lions enter the conference tournament having won four out of their last five games, including a 5-1 triumph over Adams State on Sunday in the regular season finale. The five-goal performance was a season high.Ā

Individually, Seifert paced UCCS by scoring both of the game-winning goals over the weekend as he now has 8 points (4 goals) to his credit on the year. He also leads the team with three game-winning goals.

Junior goalkeeper David Meyer has been more than reliable, earning nine of the Mountain Lions' 10 shutouts this season. He holds a .809 saves percentage, which ranks him third in the RMAC.

SCOUTING FORT LEWIS (9-8-1, 8-5-1 RMAC)
The Skyawks are looking to bounce back after having dropped their last two games of the regular season. After falling to UCCS last Friday, the team fell 2-0 at MSU Denver. However, Fort Lewis holds a 5-4-1 road record, which is slightly better than their 4-4-0 record when playing at home.

Churchill Onumonu is the primary offensive threat for the Skyhawks as he leads the team with 14 points (7 goals). Salifu Jatta is right behind with 12 points (3 goals, 6 assists). His six assists are a team-best this season.

As a team, Fort Lewis has pitched six shutouts in 2016 as Elliot Chadderton has earned five thus far. He currently holds a .679 save percentage and has allowed just 1.12 goals per game.
