COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a dominating 5-1 win over visiting Adams State on Sunday afternoon.
The Mountain Lions were led by senior
Austin Seifert, who scored twice, including the game-winner.
Adams States got on the board first when Fabbicatore Symon converted a penalty kick in the 29
th minute.
Seifert responded in the 35
th minutes with his third goal of the season before netting the game-winner less than two minutes into the second half on a one-touch shot in front of goal off of a pass into the area from
Jack Richins.
The Mountain Lions added to their lead with goals from
Cort Searls in the 72
nd,
Jake McAllister in the 84
th, and JR Calhoun in the 87
th.
In goal,
David Meyer earned the win by making one save, which came in the second half.
As a team, UCCS pelted the Grizzlies with a total of 28 shots, placing 10 on frame.
The win puts the Mountain Lions at 11-6-1 overall and finish the conference schedule with a record of 10-4.
The team will make a quick turnaround as they prepare to host Fort Lewis in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Mountain Lions Stadium.
