COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team fell Friday evening at home to No. 24 CSU-Pueblo, 3-1, in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action.
Bailee Jameson gave the Mountain Lions the lead in the 19
th minute when she beat her defender and sent an arcing shot to the back of the net. The goal is Jameson's fourth of the season.
Despite going into halftime with a 1-0 lead, UCCS was unable to hold the Thunderwolves in the final 45 minutes.
The visitors equalized in the 55
th minute when Jessica Westhoff scored off of a corner kick before Mariel Hundley scored the game-winner with less than nine minutes remaining. CSU-Pueblo tacked on a third goal with just seconds left on the clock to put the game away.
Senior forward
Michaela Mansfield led the team with five shots, placing one on goal. Both Jameson and
Megan O'Driscoll each added one shot for UCCS.
The result puts the Mountain Lions at 2-12-1 overall and 2-7-1 in the RMAC. UCCS will look to finish the season on a high note when they host New Mexico Highlands on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in their final game of the season.
