COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In a hard fought game, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 9 Regis at home Friday night.
The visiting Rangers managed to escape with the result after Noah Chapleski scored the lone goal of the game in the 73
rd minute.
UCCS held the advantage with 17 shots to the Rangers 11 as both team placed four shots on goal.
Jake McAllister led the Mountain Lions with four shots, including two on frame.
In goal,
David Meyer took the loss after making three saves.
The result puts UCCS at 7-5-1 overall and 6-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as they will look to rebound on Sunday when they host South Dakota Mines at noon.
NOTES:
- The Mountain Lions are now 2-2-1 against nationally ranked opponents.
- The two teams split the season series as UCCS edged the Rangers in Denver, 4-3, on Oct. 7.
- With the loss, the Moutain Lions' five-game winning streak was snapped.
