DURANGO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs scored three runs in the first inning of game one and five runs in the seventh inning of game two to win both games today against Regis and Fort Lewis in an RMAC pod series. The Mountain Lions (11-12 / 9-9 RMAC) won the first game 6-3 against the Rangers and closed out the weekend with a 7-2 victory against the Skyhawks to go 3-1 on the weekend.
Dani Fonseca extended her hitting streak to 19 games with an RBI single in game one and a two-of-four performance in game two. Her single into left center field against Regis scored

Warhoe scored her second run in as many innings on a single to left field by
Emily Jennings to put UCCS up 4-1. Regis scored once in the third inning and then loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth inning. The Rangers scored one run on a single and kept the bases loaded before the Mountain Lions recorded the pop out to third base.
UCCS scored one run in the fifth and sixth innings and expanded the lead to 6-3. Regis left two on base in the bottom half of both innings. The Rangers led off the bottom of the seventh with a double before a strikeout from
Stephanie Chitkowski and a pair of pop outs in the outfield secured the win.
Fort Lewis broke up a pitcher's duel in the second game with two runs in the third inning.
Tressa Radach scored Jennings in the fourth inning, and Jennings would tie it up with another run in the sixth inning off Fonseca's double. The Skyhawks got a runner into scoring position in the bottom of the sixth inning with a sacrifice bunt, but a fielder's choice took out the runner for the second out and a ground out sent the teams to the seventh inning tied 2-2.
Belligan reached base on an error, and advanced to second on a sacrifice from
Makenna Smith.
Whitney Weber doubled down the left field line and moved Belligan to third, but a strikeout at the top of the order made it two outs for the Mountain Lions. Hoffman broke the tie with a two-RBI double and Jennings got on base with a four-pitch walk. Fonseca homered to left center field to make it a 7-2 lead for UCCS before the Skyhawks' third pitcher of the inning recorded the strikeout to end the inning.
