COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team compete in the RMAC Shootout for the fourth consecutive season and will host a quarterfinal game for the second time in the last three years on Tuesday night when the Mountain Lions (23-5) host Regis (16-10) at 5:30 p.m., in the Gallogly Events Center. UCCS will enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed, the highest ranking in program history.
The Mountain Lions and Rangers split the regular season series, with both teams winning on each other's court. UCCS won the last meeting between the two teams last Friday 74-60 in Denver, with
Gabby Ramirez leading the Mountain Lions with 16 points.
Abby Kirchoff scored a program-record 39 points in the first meeting against Regis, which ended in a 92-89 loss for UCCS.
Kirchoff has 555 points this season and nine points to tie, and 10 to break, her own program scoring record of 564 points set last season. She holds the UCCS record with 1,873 points, and is 123 points away from the RMAC career record set by Diana Lopez of Regis from 2003-07.
Brittany Hernandez is leading the conference with 9.1 rebounds per game and is second in UCCS records with 247 rebounds. She is 16 rebounds away from the record set by Tara Newton in the 1991-92 season. Hernandez also leads the RMAC 2.0 blocked shots per game and is second with 49.4 percent from the field.
Ramirez is leading the region with a 2.02 assist-to-turnover ratio, two-hundredths of a point ahead of Regis' Erica Von Stein. Ramirez is five assists away from 100 this season.
Regis earned its berth into the RMAC Shootout on Saturday in a 73-61 win against Colorado State-Pueblo. The Rangers are second behind the Mountain Lions in the conference for scoring offense and are in the tournament for the third straight season. Regis advanced to the semifinals last season.

Video will be available on a pay-per-view basis through America One Sports, and will be available for free for xfinity subscribers on Channel 20 in Colorado Springs. Fans unable to secure a ticket for the game will also be able to watch the game for free in Berger Hall.
