DENVER, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (1-1-1 / 0-0-1) played to a scoreless 0-0 tie against the Metro State University Roadrunners (2-1-2 / 0-0-1) Friday afternoon at Auraria Field.
This was the Mountain Lions first taste of RMAC play this season and while they weren't able to get any paste Metro State goalkeeper Keegan Hand, they proved to other conference opponents that they'll be a force to be reckoned with this season.
Neither team got an exuberant amount of shots on goal with the final tally being 4 to 3 in favor of UCCS.
The closest UCCS got was chip in by Mountain Lion
Austin Bell that got past Metro's goalie but was knocked away at the last second by Tyler Trujillo.
UCCS put together a few nice runs in both overtime periods but was not able to capitalize on any attempts.
The game also extended UCCS keeper
Brandon Costa's (1-0-1) scoreless minute's streak this season to 200 minutes.
