UCCS won in straight sets as they beat Franklin Pierce University (25-15, 25-23, 25-22) at the 2012 Mountain Lion Invitational on Sept. 7, 2012.
Leading the way for the Mountain Lion offense was freshman
Jordan Banich who recorded game highs of 10 kills for 11 points, adding a team high 24 attacks. Banich also added to the Mountain Lion defense with six digs.
Seniors
Amy Einspahr and
Megan Koop also contributed to the UCCS offensive output finishing with seven kills apiece. They also had one and three block assists respectively.
Middle blocker
Nikki Kinzer had a well rounded game finishing with a game-high of four block assists. Kinzer also added six kills with nine digs.
Kim Catlett anchored the Mountain Lion defense recording a team-high of 14 digs with the only solo block of the game, and added two service aces.
Setters Lindsey Stich and
Grace Gordon complimented each other very nicely as they shared positional duties. Stich finished with 16 assists adding two service aces, two kills, and four digs while Gordon recorded a team-high 18 assists, adding six digs and one service ace.
Freshmen
Amanda Bloom also chipped in to the UCCS output with five kills, two block assists and one dig.
