Einspahr leads the way against No. 23 ranked Regis

Denver, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's volleyball team falls to No. 23 ranked Regis 0-3 (18-25, 19-25, 19-25) on Saturday, September 29. With the loss, the Mountain Lions' record falls to 9-5, 4-2 RMAC.

UCCS started off slowly in the first set as they fell behind 0-4 to begin the matchup. The Mountain Lions could not come back from the deficit in this set which saw zero ties and zero lead changes.  The second set would be more closely contested as there were two lead changes and eight ties, yet the Mountain Lions would falter to the Rangers in the set, and fall behind 0-2 in the match.  Regis would go on to win the third set to win the match 3-0.

The Mountain Lions were led on offense in each set by senior Amy Einspahr who had team-highs of three kills in the first and second sets as well as four kills in the third set for a team-high of 10.5 points. Einsparh also added one dig and one block assist.   

Senior Middle blockers Nikki Kinzer and Megan Koop both had a team-high of three block assists. Kinzer added four kills and 5.5 points. Koop had three digs with one dig and finished with 4.5 points.

Freshmen Kim Catlett and Jordan Banich contributed on both the offense and defensive ends in the matchup. Catlett recorded two kills, one block assist, a team-high of eight digs, and the only solo block for the Mountain Lions. Banich had five points with four kills, three digs, and two block assists.

Up Next: The Mountain Lions will be back at home, where they are undefeated on the season with a record of 6-0, as they host Western New Mexico (6-9, 3-2 RMAC) for the annual White-Out event on Thursday, September 29.
