Mountain Lions Limit Rangers to Lowest Goal Total of Season

DENVER, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs held the fourth-best scoring offense in Division II to a season-low in goals in a 1-0 loss to No. 7 Regis this afternoon at the Regis Soccer Pitch. Mash Shaswar led the Mountain Lion offense with half of the team's shots.

UCCS kept a strong offensive presence through the first 15 minutes of the game with a pair of corner kicks and three shots against Regis. The defense allowed the only goal of the game with less than seven minutes left in the half after Brandon Costa made a save and forced three other shots wide during the period.

Costa made five saves during the second half, including three within a span of three minutes midway through the half. The Mountain Lions took more shots in the second half, including two from Shaswar to give him five on the day.

The Rangers came into today's game scoring more than four goals per conference game and no less than two all season. It was the third straight game between Regis and UCCS in Denver decided by a 1-0 score.

Up Next: UCCS will travel to face defending national champion Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. The Skyhawks won earlier today 1-0 against Adams State at home.
