Shaswar Scores First Goal of Season in Loss to Stanislaus

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - Mash Shaswar tied the game with a goal in the 31st minute and led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (0-2) with four shots as the Mountain Lions fell 3-1 to California State-Stanislaus (2-0) this afternoon at Dominican University's Kennelly Stadium.

James Roberts got the first shot of the Cal State-Stanislaus goal early in the 15th minute, but after the shot went high, the Warriors used the open field for their first goal 39 seconds later. The Mountain Lions evened the game in the 31st minute after James Roberts set up Shaswar for the goal.
UCCS outshot the Warriors 8-4 in the first half, with two each from Shaswar, James Roberts and Taylor Ferguson.
Cal State Stanislaus retook the lead in the 56 minute off of a corner kick, and then expanded on the lead off a penalty kick in the 89th minute.

Up Next: UCCS opens the 2012 season with in-town opponent Colorado College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Tigers are 1-0 this season and have a home game Monday night against Nebraska Wesleyan before Wednesday's contest in Mountain Lion Stadium.
