HAYWARD, Calif. -
Mash Shaswar led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs offense with both of his shots on target, but it wasn't enough as the Mountain Lions (0-1) fell to California State-East Bay (1-0) 3-0 tonight in at Pioneer Stadium. It was the 2012 season-opener for both teams.
Shaswar made both of his shots within the first 12 minutes of the second half as the Mountain Lions matched the Pioneers in shots during the second half. Four of the five UCCS shots in the second half were on goal.
Brandon Costa made four saves for UCCS on the defensive side. The Mountain Lions held the Pioneers to a single goal in the first half, but a goal in the 61st minute and a penalty kick in the 62nd minute led to the 3-0 decision for California State-East Bay.
