CHADRON, NEB. - Nikki Kinzer's 16 kills led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to the 16th consecutive win against Chadron State as the Mountain Lions (17-8 / 11-5 RMAC) beat the Eagles 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-15) tonight at Armstrong Gym.

The Mountain Lions fell in the first set 25-21, but were led by reigning RMAC player of the month, Nikki Kinzer. She recorded five kills, hitting .444 percent and also had three digs in the set. Freshman Jordan Banich played a well rounded game as she put in four kills and seven digs in the set, finishing the match with 10 kills, 11 digs, and one service ace.

UCCS found their stride in the second set as they were trailing 7-8, before going on a 9-0 run to take a commanding lead of the set that they never relinquished. The Mountain Lions went on to win the second set 25-17, and were led again by senior middle blocker, Nikki Kinzer, who tacked on five more kills in the second. She also recorded one solo block and one block assist in the set. Freshman Libero, Katie Maguire, also aided on the defensive end in the second set as she had 10 of her game-high 21 digs in the second.

Kinzer and UCCS carried their momentum into the third set as Kinzer added five more kills and the Mountain lions went on to win 25-22. Kinzerfinished the match hitting .583 percent with game-highs of 16 kills and five blocks. Freshman Kim Catlett also came on strong in the third as she adds four kills in the set. Catlett finished the match with 13 digs and 10 kills on a team-high 26 attacks.  

The Mountain Lions began the fourth set on a  9-2 run as they went on to win the set 25-15 and close out the match with a 3-1 victory. The UCCSoffense was anchored in the fourth set by senior setter, Lindsey Stich. Stich put in seven assists, two kills, and one dig in the set. She finished with a team-high 29 assists, adding four kills, four digs, and one service ace.

Freshmen Amanda Bloom and Grace Gordon also both added to the Mountain Lions output in the match. Bloom finished the night with seven kills and three block assists. Gordon recorded 24 assists and eight digs.

UP NEXT: UCCS will be back on the road Sat. November 3, as they travel to South Dakota to take on Black Hills State (10-16, 4-12 RMAC). The Mountain Lions won the only match against the Yellow Jackets on September 21, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-16).
