SPEARFISH, South Dakota - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's volleyball teams beats Black Hills State 3-1 ( 25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 25-18) on Saturday night. The Mountain Lions improve to 18-8 overall, 12-5 RMAC, and stand fourth in RMAC.

UCCS was led in the first set by the reigning RMAC player of the month, Nikki Kinzer, who recorded four of her 11 kills in the set. Kinzer finished the match also adding five digs, a game-high five block assists, one solo block and three service aces.

Freshmen Kim Catlett and Jordan Banich dominated in the second set as they combined for 12 kills. Catlett put in seven of her team-high 12 kills in the second and also finished the match with 12 digs, three block assists, and a game-high and career-best four service aces. Banich finished the match with a team-high 44 attacks adding 11 kills, five digs, one block assists and one solo block.

Seniors Amy Einspahr and Megan Koop led the Mountain lions to victory in the third and fourth sets to close out the match. Einspahr recorded half of her kills for the match in third set, as she finished the match with six kills, one dig and one assist. Koop took over the fourth set as she tacks on five of her eight kills in the set. She also added three block assists and two digs in the match.

Setter Lindsey Stich put the UCCS offense in prime position all match as she finishes with a game-high and season-best 43 assists. Stich also added eight digs, two block assists, and two kills in the match.

The Mountain Lion's Libero, Katie Maguire, took over on the defensive end as she concludes the match with a game-high 17 digs while adding two assists.

UP NEXT: UCCS prepares for their last matches of the season as they host Colorado Mines (20-5, 14-2 RMAC) and Colorado Christian (21-7, 11-6 RMAC) next weekend. The Mountain Lions will take on the Orediggers on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by a match against the Cougars on Saturday at 5 p.m. Both games with have playoff implications as all three teams are currently in the top six in the RMAC standings. Mines is currently in first place, UCCS is in fourth and Colorado Christian trails UCCS by one game.The top four teams will host a first round match in the 2012 RMAC tournament.
