DENVER, Colo. - A tightly contested contest took No. 18 University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Metro State to overtime, but an own goal provided the different in overtime as the Mountain Lions (13-3-2 / 9-3-3 RMAC) fell to the Roadrunners (12-4-2 / 9-3-2 RMAC) today at Auraria Field in Denver. The decision allows UCCS to host a first round game of the upcoming conference tournament.

The Mountain Lions and Roadrunners played to a 0-0 tie during the first half, and UCCS goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder finished with three saves to keep Metro State off the board. UCCS started the second half with seven straight shots and out shot the Roadrunners nine-to-six overall in the half, but both teams remained scoreless during regulation and the Mountain Lions went to overtime for the third straight game of the season.

The first overtime remained scoreless until 5:27 left in the period, when a ball went off a Mountain Lion defender and past Schroeder for an own goal. Schroeder finished with six saves throughout the game.

Agnes Arnadottir, the all-time UCCS leader for points in a season, led the Mountain Lions with two shots and one on goal in the defensive contest.
