LAKEWOOD, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team (12-2-1 / 8-2-1 RMAC) clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament with a 2-1 win over Colorado Christian (2-12-1 / 0-10-1 RMAC). It's the third conference tournament appearance in the fifth season of the program's history.
Hannah Levett scored the opening goal of the game in the 25th minute off a cross from
Jenna Gist. It was the eighth goal of the season for Levett and moved her alone into second in UCCS season records. The Mountain Lions finished the half with the 1-0 lead and out-shot the Cougars 5-1.
Agnes Arnadottir made it a 2-0 lead for the Mountain Lions in the 57th minute off a pass from
Hannah Rather. Arnadottir's seventh goal of the season moved her into third in season records and second in career records. The Cougars avoided the shutout with a goal in the 73rd minute.
The win kept the Mountain Lions in a tie for first in the RMAC standings with Regis, who beat Fort Lewis 6-3. Metro State, who was tied for first going into today's games, lost today to Colorado Mesa.
The Mountain Lions are unbeaten in their last six games and continue to increase its record-setting season win total.
