UCCS, Adams State play to scoreless tie

ALAMOSA, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer teams chances of making the playoffs took another hit Sunday as the Mountain Lions were forced to settle for a 0-0 tie against the Adams State Grizzlies a the ASC Lacrosse and Soccer Field.

With four matches remaining, UCCS (7-6-1, 3-6-1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) trails Colorado Mesa by seven points in the standings. With three points awarded for a win and one for a tie, time is quickly expiring for the Mountain Lions.

In Sunday's match, Adams State held a 16-14 advantage in shots, but UCCS was better in shots on goal at 7-4.

Kelly Schroeder played 105:38 in goal for UCCS before Jessica Taylor came in the complete the shutout. Taylor was busy in her 4:22, making two saves in the final minute.

The Mountain Lions have a very challenging pair of games scheduled for the upcoming weekend with Colorado Mines, currently ranked No. 15 nationally, coming to Mountain Lions Field on Friday and Metro State doing the same on Sunday.
