COLORADO SPRINGS - In a game that could have gone either way, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs fell to the No. 19 Colorado School of Mines Orediggers 1-0 in overtime Friday night at Mountain Lion Stadium.

Despite the Orediggers tallying more shots on goal by a tune of 9-5, neither team cracked the scoreboard until Anna Evans scored in the 92nd minute off an assist from Joanna Graves.   

The goal was Evans team-leading eleventh goal of the season and puts Evans third in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in goals scored.

"We came out really well, we found our rhythm again in terms of controlling the pace of the ball and controlling the pace of the game we wanted. We had a lot of great chances at goal, a couple that we weren't prepared for. Maybe we've got to run through a couple more," said UCCS coach Nichole Ridenour. "It was an unfortunate way to end a great game."

With regular goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder sidelined with an injury, Longmont, Colo. native Jessica Taylor got the start in net for UCCS. Taylor came through with eight saves.

"Jessica Taylor played a great game in goal and came up big on one of the shots, laid out for it and made sure she got her hand to it," said Ridenour.

After the 4-0 slashing UCCS received from Mines on Sept 18. the Mountain Lions made a concerted effort to limit the high scoring Orediggers in this match, but with no goals scored in their last three matches the offense just hasn't been there.

The Mountain Lions (7-7-1, 3-7-1 RMAC) loss to the Orediggers (12-2-1, 8-2-1 RMAC) prolongs UCCS' winless streak to five games with the team's next chance for a win coming Sunday Oct. 23 against Metro State at Mountain Lion Stadium.
