Skyhawks run win streak against UCCS to 20 games

DURANGO - The Fort Lewis Skyhawks continued their mastery of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in men's soccer with a 3-0 victory Sunday at Dirks Field.

Fort Lewis has now won 20 straight in the series between the schools. The last UCCS win was on Oct. 27, 2001, a 1-0 decision at UCCS. The Skyhawks lead the all-time series 30-5-4.

In Sunday's win, Fort Lewis held the Mountain Lions to just seven shots overall, only two of which were on goal. FLC goalkeeper Kamran Khyltash (3-0) stopped both of those to record his first shutout of the season and the fifth by the Skyhawks.

UCCS goalkeeper Brandon Costa (2-4) made four saves in the loss.

Thomas Hoang and Keane Hamilton each scored in the first half. Joey Madigan added a goal in the second half.
