DENVER -
Amie Kern made 10 saves but the No. 12-ranked Metro State Roadrunners simply had too much firepower in a 3-0 victory over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Sunday at Auraria Field.
Metro State(13-1-3, 9-0-2 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) has now outscored RMAC opponents 40-3 and has outscored all opponents 54-9.
But while the Roadrunners boast impressive offensive weapons, their first goal Sunday came from a player who had not yet scored this season. Courtney Ryan scored her first career goal, heading in a Gabby Klipp corner kick, in the 11th minute.
Metro State's other two scores came from more conventional sources. Jen Thomas scored her 12th goal of the season off a pass from Michael Ann Karas in the 40th minute. In the 54th minute, Becca Mays sailed in a free kick.
UCCS, which is 2-12 over its past 14 matches, dropped to 4-12-1, 2-9 in the RMAC.
Becca Maloney made seven saves in recording her 10th save of the season.
