DENVER - Ola Sandquist had two goals to lead the Metro State Roadrunners to a 4-1 victory over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Sunday afternoon at Auraria Soccer Field.
The Roadrunners (10-4-3, 7-2-3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) were dominate offensively with 27 shots, while the Mountain Lions (4-11-2, 2-9-1 RMAC) had a meager eight shots.
Sandquist got his first goal midway through the first half off a pass by Kellen Johnson.
Four minutes, 43 seconds into the second half Sandquist struck again with a pass by Tyler Hambrick to put Metro State ahead 2-0.
Scott Grode sent a pass to Johnson to score the third goal for the Roadrunners with 26:26 remaining in the game.
After a foul by Metro State,
Jeff Bettner free kicked it to get UCCSâ€TM only goal with 14:45 remaining.
With less then three minutes remaining in the game Steven Emory got the Roadrunners final goal to end the game 4-1.
Ryan Vickery (10-4-3) earned the win for Metro State with three saves.
Adam Liszewski (4-8-2) took the loss with six saves.Â
