Bryan Stoeber's fifth goal of the season helped the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs earn a road tie Sunday, 1-1 against the Regis Rangers in Denver.

Stoeber's goal in the 39th minute tied him for second all-time among UCCS freshman goal scorers, matching Brody Carson's output from 1992. Stoeber, a Widefield High School graduate, still has a way to go to match Kevin Noleen for the school's freshman goals record. Noleen scored 14 times in 1995 en route to a school-record 47 for his career.

But while Stoeber's goal set a standard, it didn't stand up.

Barely a minute later, Regis' Danny Terrill punched in a rebound after a Jarad Murphy shot to tie the match. UCCS goalkeeper Isaac Kostrow, who made four saves in the match, has now given up three rebound goals this season.

The teams spent the next 70+ minutes (50:08 in regulation and two 10-minute overtime periods) trying vainly to gain an advantage. Both teams struggled to find a rhythm, partly because of the combined 34 fouls and six offside calls.

The tie ended a five-game loss steak for the Mountain Lions (3-6-1, 1-4-1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference). Regis is now 2-5-1, 1-4-1 RMAC.
