COLORADO SPRINGS -- Schizophrenia is alive and well at the Lions' Den.

After dominating the first two games, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs volleyball team folded like origami to drop a 3-2 (25-30, 19-30, 30-18, 31-29, 15-7) decision to the Regis Rangers Tuesday night.

After putting the match away, the Rangers' celebration looked and sounded like they had just won the World Cup. Perhaps they did. It was the kind of win that could become a season turner.

And the same holds true, albeit in reverse, for the Mountain Lions. It may be difficult to sooth the sting of this one.

UCCS (4-9, 1-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) outhit Regis .364 to .167 in Game 1 and .542 to -.059 in Game 2. When the teams came out for Game 3, however, it looked like they had pulled the old uniform switcheroo.

UCCS hit -.024, .171 and -.067 in the final three games. Regis (7-6, 4-1 RMAC) hit .231, .238 and .235.

Chelsea Pavlik led the Rangers with 18 kills. Liz Franz added 15, Meghan Meehan had 14 and Rachel Ross added 13.

Diane Sheldon led UCCS with 11 kills while Brooke Akers added 10.
