David Kimaiyo won his first track and field race of his collegiate career with 8 minutes, 59.39 seconds in the 3,000-meter run at the Colorado Mines Twilight on Saturday. His altitude and track adjusted time of 8:34.47 is sixth in the RMAC performance lists and is less than nine seconds away from the NCAA provisional qualifying time.
