Colin Prater tied for fifth at the 2016 NCAA Division II West / South Central Region Championships with a 2-under 211. He recorded his sixth top-five finish of the season and finished the tournament with a 2-under 69. Prater averaged 71.8 strokes per round this season and was a member of the All-RMAC First Team and RMAC All-Tournament Team.
