Heather (Sanders) Sutton, a former member of the Mountain Lion volleyball team, is in her 10th year in 2025-26 as Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations. Sutton oversees the department's financial processes, coordinates event operations and serves as advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.Â
Sutton was a three-year member of the volleyball team as a defensive specialist before she joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant. She was an RMAC Defensive Player of the Week and a member of the RMAC Academic Honor Roll during her career. She averaged four digs per set and was seventh in the conference during her senior season.
Sutton earned her bachelor's degree in Leadership Communication with a minor in Professional and Technical Writing in 2014. She completed her master's degree in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in Operations and Innovations Management in 2016.
Heather and her husband, Justin, were married in August 2018.
