David Koehler was named the Assistant Sports Information Director in August 2026. As Assistant SID, Koehler assists with the department's sports information and communications tasks, including statistics, website content and maintenance, social media, game coverage and other external communications responsibilities. He serves as the primary contact for women's soccer, men's basketball and baseball.
Koehler returned to UCCS Athletics after previously serving as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant from August 2024 through May 2026. In that role, he contributed to the department's communications efforts across multiple sports, writing game recaps, student-athlete biographies, end-of-season recaps and rankings stories. He also assisted with social media content, designed gameday, final-score and rankings graphics, and assisted with gameday operations, including statistics, scoreboard and clock responsibilities.
In addition to his sports information responsibilities, Koehler also served as an Athletics Compliance Graduate Assistant at UCCS, where he worked with student-athlete eligibility, NCAA compliance and recruiting activities. He helped manage eligibility certification for 14 teams and assisted with compliance efforts involving more than 300 student-athletes.
A 2023 graduate of Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, Koehler earned his Master of Business Administration from UCCS in May 2026.
