A Division II national qualifier in the shot put, Chase Beideck begins his first season as a member of the coaching staff for the University of Colorado Springs track and field program. He will lead the program’s throwing and strength programs.
Beideck, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, has worked with the U.S. Army since 2012 in the Performance Optimization Program at Fort Carson. He worked with units ranging from 30 to 130 soldiers in the 3rd Brigade to improve strength, speed, power, agility and endurance, and instructed soldiers for ground-based movement and Olympic movements to improve performance and decrease injury. Beideck worked directly with physical therapy staff to mitigate injuries and with athletic trainers on treatment plans.
Beideck was previously the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Omaha Northwest High School from January through November of 2012, where he was responsible for testing, evaluation, teaching and coaching for student-athletes. He spent two years before in the private sector as a strength and conditioning coach after he completed work with the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2010.
Beideck was a student-athlete at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he finished No. 10 at the 2004 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in the shot put and No. 12 at the national outdoor championships. He redshirted the 2005 season at Division I Nebraska before he transferred back to UNK.
Beideck earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from UNK in 2008, and his master’s degree in exercise science in 2010.
