Head women's soccer coach Sian Hudson begins her third season with the Mountain Lions in 2019.

In 2018, Mountain Lions returned to the RMAC Tournament Championship, NCAA Tournament, and the NCAA South Central Region Championship in 2018 for the second consecutive year. UCCS finished 14-2-1 during the regular season to capture the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. UCCS then moved on to qualify for the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed where the Mountain Lions took down Angelo State University in the first round. The season came to an end against West Texas A&M University as UCCS came up short 4-3 in PKs.

UCCS rewrote the record books in 2018 on the offensive side of the ball, including season records for most points (163), goals (62), goals per game (2.82), shots (420), and shots on goal (209).

In her first year with the program, Hudson led the Mountain Lions to a record-breaking season.  UCCS posted a 17-5-1 overall record and placed third in conference in the regular season with a 10-2-0 record.  The Mountain Lions won the RMAC tournament championship to earn their first ever berth to the NCAA Tournament, receiving the No. 2 seed in the South Central Region.  UCCS defeated West Texas A&M at home in the second round, 1-0, before defeating Colorado School of Mines in San Diego, Calif. to win the South Central Region Championship.  Two days later, the Mountain Lions topped No. 3 UC-San Diego in penalty kicks (4-3) after a 1-1 double overtime draw, to advance to the NCAA semifinal round.  Against the second-ranked team in the nation, the Mountain Lions lost a 2-1 decision in Kansas City, Mo.

The 2017 Mountain Lions set program records that included goals against average (0.77), most wins (17), and the second fewest losses in a season (5).

Hudson and her staff were named the 2017 United Soccer Coaches South Central Region Women's Soccer Staff of the Year.  Individually, Tarah Patterson and Taylor Proctor were named the RMAC Freshman of the Year and the RMAC Goalkeeper of the Year, respectively.  Six Mountain Lions garnered All-RMAC post-season honors while six were named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll.

Hudson has coached the only two All-Americans in program history including Tarah Patterson (2017) and Anna Gregg (2018). The Mountain Lions have tallied 12 All-RMAC honors, including four conference players of the year, and 12 RMAC All-Academic awards, including one academic player of the year, under Hudson’s direction.

Hudson spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach for NCAA Division I Colorado College. She assisted in every aspect of the program and was a member of the staff that led the Tigers to the semifinals of the 2015 Mountain West Conference Tournament. She coached 17 student-athletes in two seasons who received Mountain West academic awards.

Hudson was the general manager for the Colorado Pride W-League Team during the team's first two seasons in 2014 and 2015. She also served as the assistant coach for the 2014 season and took the reigns as the head coach for the 2015 campaign. Hudson led the team to the conference championship in 2015 and had four players drafted into the National Women's Soccer League between the drafts in 2014 and 2015, four who played professionally overseas, and four who were named to the National Team in Australia and the United States for the 2016 Olympic Games and 2016 FIFA Under-20 World Cup.

Hudson served as the senior girls director of coaching for Pride Soccer Club and head coach of the Pride Predator teams in Colorado Springs from 2002 through 2015. As senior director of coaching, she oversaw three full-time directors of coaching and 25 additional coaches among more than 40 competitive teams. Hudson won 11 state championships, one regional championship and was a 2014 national semifinalist with the Pride Predators 99 team. She coached two youth national team players and had eight players who were involved in the national team pool. Hudson also started the program's college placement coordinator in 2010 to educate parents and players on the college recruiting process.

Hudson played on the Wales National Team and became the youngest full international player on the team at the time at age 16. She made three appearances at the senior level in the European Championships from 1997 through 1999 and 10 appearances at the UEFA Championships as a captain for the under-19 team. Hudson won five senior league championships, three league cups and the Welsh Cup for the Newport County Ladies Club Team from 1995 through 2000.
