The 2020-21 season marks Christine Hatton's fifth season as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Hatton has built the program from the ground up after guiding the new program in their inaugural season in 2017.
Hatton and the Mountain Lions ended the COVID-19 shortened season winning their final three home games in a 10-day. UCCS won their home opener against Northern Michigan with a 9-8 overtime win, followed by a 15-0 shutout over New England College, and a 24-17 win against Ashland in their final contest of the season. Natalie Church led 10 Mountain Lions that received RMAC All-Academic accolades with a first team selection; Honor Roll: Holly Sodomka, Mallory Corrigan, Madison Ellis, Kyer Frederick, Alison Kobel, Kiera Lowe, Sammie MacAffer, Sydney Malcolm, and Morgan Miller.
In just their third season as a varsity program, Hatton and the Mountain Lions qualified for their first RMAC Championship Tournament. The Mountain Lions finished the regular season with a 6-9 overall record and a 4-5 record in the RMAC. As the No. 5 seed, the Mountain Lions faced No. 4 seed Rockhurst University in the first round of the playoffs (L, 9-17). Four Mountain Lions received all-conference awards: Natalie Church (second team), Kiera Lowe (honorable mention), Angela Naughton (honorable mention) and Ellie O'Brien (honorable mention), while eight student-athletes received RMAC All-Academic accolades:  Natalie Church Mallory Corrigan (honor roll), Madison Ellis (honor roll), Alison Kobel (honor roll), Kiera Lowe (honor roll), Sammie MacAffer (honor roll), Sydney Malcolm (honor roll), and Morgan Miller (honor roll).Â
Hatton's 2018 team was made up of eleven freshman which included Natalie Church who was named RMAC Women's Lacrosse Freshman of the Year. The awards continued as five Mountain Lions earned All-RMAC honorable mention while two student-athletes earned RMAC All-Academic honors.Â
In her first season, Hatton saw her team with their first-ever game, a 12-9 win over Adams State in a home game on February, 25. Two of her players earned All-RMAC honorable mention for their efforts in the 2017 season.
Prior to her starting at UCCS, Hatton led Reinhardt to a pair of NWLL tournament appearances in the last two seasons, which served as the national championship tournament for NAIA institutions until this year. She was the NWLL South Region Coach of the Year in 2014 after a runner-up finish in the region. The Eagles finished second in the Appalachian Athletic Conference this spring and were the runner-up in the AAC conference tournament the last two seasons.
Hatton was the first women's lacrosse coach at Midland University in Fremont, Neb., for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. She led the team's development and led the Warriors to a winning season by the second year. Hatton was also on the Board of Directors for the first youth lacrosse program in Nebraska.
